Even if you are interested in Science-Fiction, Animations, or Manga and have some knowledge about many comic-markets in Tokyo or other local cities, you might askgWhat is SF convention?".
You may not know that the opening animations of gDaicon3" and "Daicon4" were made and on screen for Japan SF convention.There even exist some SF writers,animators and cartoon writers who came to know and attend it for their first time after they had become professionals.This convention is not so famous even in those worlds. In fact, I had not known that one of the conventions was held in Aichi Pre. in '89 until I attended Daicon 6 in '93 for the first time.(However, I have known Japan SF Convention itself since Daicon 3 in '81. You may feel it expensive to pay about 10 thousand yen for its entry. But, think about it! The ticket you will get is usually available for 2 days. Other concerts of professional musicians cost about, at least, 2 thousand yen/hour.In comparison to that, Japan SF Convention, which has many programs and events (longer than 10 hours for 2 days!) costs about 1 thousand yen/hour. So enjoy these 2 days as you can, and it will become quite reasonable!

Nothing has been reported about him ! Only an uncertain information says that he is from Kansai area and works for an automobile company in Aichi Pre.(NOT TOYOTA!).
As his personal philosophy is also unknown, nobody can predict what type of Japan SF Convention he wants to create.

Japan SF Convention, held in Tokyo in 1962 for the first time,is the annual event that will be counted 37th in next year.Its management staff is organized by SF fans voluntarily and its working budget is only supported by participants' entry fees only.At first, Japan SF Convention was held only for the fans of SF novels.Before long, the places of the event rotates prefecture by prefecture, and this will be 5th Convention at Nagoya.
Gradually, the situation around SF itself has changed. At now, this event is not only for the fans of SF novels but for the fans of various fields of SF. The theme of this CAPRICON 1 is SF motion pictures. So, what do you want to do at Japan SF Convention? I hope that you will find your dream to SF at CAPRICON 1 .
